Thanks very much for my Christmas card. It’s great to hear from you guys.

I feel like we hung out a lot this year, but mostly on your dime. We hooked up with the London team at the O2 Wireless, where I lost part of my brain in a field to the White Stripes.

Then in Cannes, typically a gathering for the professionally obsessed, the personally arrogant, and the pathologically needy. I enjoyed a spectacular dinner with the New York bunch, and had a lovely evening remembering that there are some people in advertising who are genuinely funny, self-deprecating, and talented. In Cannes, this kind of stuff is as unlikely as a trapdoor in a canoe. I appreciated it.

So – as a thank you for a lovely year spent hanging out with you guys, I thought I’d offer you this in return.

I loooove hanging out in hotels. I really do. I have a great boyfriend. We hang out in hotels all the time.

He’s quite new, but we met over the course of three years, randomly, in the following locations:

- an airport in France, in a queue to check-in, with both of us pretty much too hungover to stand

- a club in London, where he was reviewing a band that I love

- a street corner in New York. No story. I was hungover, asking for a light. He was standing sending a text. We both looked up at the same moment.

And then we broke up with the people we were seeing, he moved to London, and now we’re together.

So. Here is my pledge. If you give us the room, I can’t promise anything, but based on past experience of the times we’ve spent hanging out in hotels, there may be some misbehaviour. And if this misbehaviour results in a teeny tiny media offspring, I make the following promise to our generous benefactors:

We will – and please take this email as confirmation of the above – name our first-born child ‘Agency.Com xxxx’ (it was good til then – ed)

Agency chief comes clean after all these years

When I was vice-chairman of xxx in Soho I had to make the case to over 300 staff of why Clerkenwell “the” destination to relocate to. I even hired xxx to do a video to sell it to them all and a brochure about the “New Soho”. But now I have officially retired I can be honest and say it was all bollocks. Soho is by far the best place in UK to work and a night in the hotel would be lovely. End of . . . . . . . .

Mainly because Thursday is my only day without a party this week and I’ll need loads of lovely sleep to make it through the weekend. That’s unless you want me not to see christmas this year. Up to you…

My girlfriend flies to Australia on 21st December to look after her dying aunt (rare strain of tropical disease which is very slow and painful and highly contagious) and we spent all our money on the air ticket which means I missed the mortgage payment and have been turfed out of my home (what credit crunch?!) which means I will be on the street cold, hungry and lonely over Christmas (I have no relatives of my own, they all died in a plane crash when I was young … in fact I was the only survivor) until my girlfriend saves up enough money in Australia (through whatever means?!) to afford the flight home.

(For the record, this is not strictly true but was inspired by those recent contestants on X Factor who proved that the sky is the limit if you’ve got a good sob story!)

Well, it’s for my buddy.. not me!

his heating blew up and he has no heating or hot water and i don’t think doing a Ray Mears with his girlfriend everyday is doing them much good.

he’s grown a beard and may start to smell. I think he needs to have a good long soak in a bath with his girl before they start looking like mr & mrs Mears.

should you want to give this top bloke ( & top lady ) this room… let him know
